From two boats in 2016 to a full fleet on the Andaman Sea.
Leon Beiling started Blue Water Charter Phuket in 2016 with two boats, Rafiki and Mufasa. Ten years on, the same owner run operation charters catamarans, speedboats and yachts for guests from across the world.
The story
Leon Beiling came to Thailand the same way most people do, on holiday. He kept coming back. After enough trips he knew the islands, the tides and the spots the tour boats skip, and he started showing fellow South Africans around when they visited.
That is where Blue Water Charter Phuket began, in 2016, with two boats. Rafiki, a Sea Ray Express speedboat, and Mufasa, a power catamaran. Both are still in the fleet today.
Word travelled. What started as trips for South African visitors grew into charters for guests from the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and across Asia. The fleet grew with the demand: sailing catamarans for large groups, power catamarans for fast island hopping, speedboats for small parties who want to reach the quiet bays before anyone else.
What has not changed is who you deal with. Guests still plan their day directly with Leon.
How we work
You give us the date, the group size and what you want out of the day. We match the boat to that, not the other way round.
Some stops only work on the right tide. We plan the order of the day so you get the beaches before the day tour boats arrive.
Full time crew on every charter, lunch and drinks on board, and snorkelling gear and water toys on the boats that carry them.
Koh Khai, Rang Yai, Naka, Phang Nga Bay. All within a day of Phuket.
Credentials
Blue Water Charter Phuket operates under Tourism Authority of Thailand licence 34/03443, registration number 0845560006451109/17. Phuket has no shortage of unlicensed boats. Ours are not among them.
Where we sail
Phang Nga Bay, the Phi Phi Islands, Coral Island, Rang Yai, Naka, Koh Khai and the Similans, all within reach of a day charter from Phuket.
